Get Pairy

Pairy has two parts. The iPad and iPhone app is on the App Store. The Mac companion is a free download from this page. Install both on the devices you want to connect.

What Pairy is

Pairy shows your Mac desktop on an iPad at full screen. Touch the screen to move the pointer, use two fingers to scroll, and open the floating menu for the keyboard, dictation, clipboard and display controls.

The iPhone app adds a remote mode. While the iPad is showing a Mac, an iPhone on the same local network can pair with the iPad and act as a wireless keyboard and trackpad. The iPad keeps the Mac picture. The iPhone sends only input. With a hardware keyboard connected, the iPhone shows the trackpad without the software keyboard. The iPhone also has a viewer mode that connects directly to a Mac through Tailscale and shows its screen.

The iPad and iPhone app is free and shows ads. A one-time Remove Ads purchase hides them. The Mac companion is free and shows no ads.

How the connection works

Pairy embeds Tailscale. Sign in to the same Tailscale account on the Mac and on the iPad. Pairy finds your Macs, and Tailscale encrypts the connection between your devices. You do not enter an IP address or open a port on your router.

The iPhone remote mode uses the local network instead. The iPhone finds an iPad that is already showing a Mac through Bonjour, and the iPad owner confirms the pairing. The iPhone sends keyboard and trackpad input to the iPad. The iPad forwards that input to the Mac over the existing Tailscale session. Video stays on the iPad in remote mode.

iOS asks for Local Network access when you use the iPhone remote. Allow it, or the iPhone cannot find the iPad.

Set up

  1. Download the Mac companion, move Pairy to Applications and open it.
  2. In the Mac app, sign in to Tailscale. Allow Screen Recording and Accessibility when macOS asks.
  3. Install Pairy on the iPad or iPhone and sign in to the same Tailscale account.
  4. Choose your Mac. When one online Mac is available, the app connects automatically. Otherwise select the Mac by name.
  5. Optional iPhone remote: open Pairy on the iPhone while the iPad shows the Mac, tap the iPad, and confirm on the iPad.

Advanced: instead of web sign-in, tap Sign in with an auth key and paste an untagged key created by the Mac's Tailscale account. Pairy does not save the key on the device. A key from another account joins that account's tailnet. No Mac yet? Tap Try the Demo on the first screen to use a simulated Mac without an account or network.

FAQ

The app cannot find my Mac. Check that the Mac is awake, online and running the companion. Check that both devices use the same Tailscale account. If the Mac is offline in the Tailscale admin page, reconnect it there.

The screen is black or input does nothing. Open System Settings on the Mac and check Screen Recording and Accessibility for Pairy. Quit and reopen the Mac app after you change a permission.

The iPhone cannot find the iPad. Put both devices on the same Wi-Fi network and allow Local Network access for Pairy on the iPhone. The iPad must be connected to the Mac and showing its screen.

Can I use Pairy without Tailscale? The normal Mac connection needs Tailscale. The in-app demo runs on the device and needs no account or network.

How do I remove ads? Open the Remove Ads row in the app and buy it once. Use Restore Purchases on another device with the same Apple Account. People who bought an earlier version of the app stay ad-free.

연결 방식

Pairy とは

Pairy は Mac のデスクトップを iPad の画面いっぱいに表示します。画面を触ってポインターを動かし、2 本指でスクロールします。フローティングメニューを開くと、キーボード、音声入力、クリップボード、画面設定を使えます。

iPhone アプリにはリモートモードがあります。iPad が Mac の画面を表示している間、同じローカルネットワーク上の iPhone が iPad とペアリングし、ワイヤレスキーボードとトラックパッドとして使えます。Mac の画面は iPad に表示されたままで、iPhone は入力だけを送ります。ハードウェアキーボードを接続すると、iPhone にはソフトウェアキーボードを出さず、トラックパッドだけを表示します。iPhone には、Tailscale を通じて Mac に直接接続し、画面を表示するビューアモードもあります。

iPad と iPhone のアプリは広告つきで無料です。「広告を削除」を一度購入すると広告が表示されなくなります。Mac コンパニオンアプリは無料で、広告はありません。

接続の仕組み

Pairy には Tailscale が組み込まれています。Mac と iPad で同じ Tailscale アカウントにサインインしてください。Pairy が Mac を見つけ、デバイス間の通信を Tailscale が暗号化します。IP アドレスの入力やルーターのポート開放は不要です。

設定手順

  1. Mac コンパニオンアプリをダウンロードし、Pairy をアプリケーションフォルダに移して開きます。
  2. Mac アプリで Tailscale にサインインします。macOS から求められたら、画面収録とアクセシビリティを許可します。
  3. iPad または iPhone に Pairy をインストールし、同じ Tailscale アカウントでサインインします。
  4. Mac を選びます。オンラインの Mac が 1 台なら自動で接続し、複数あるときは名前から選びます。
  5. iPhone のリモートを使うときは、iPad が Mac の画面を表示している間に iPhone で Pairy を開き、一覧の iPad をタップして、iPad 側で接続を承認します。

上級: Web サインインの代わりに「認証キーでサインイン」を選び、Mac の Tailscale アカウントで作成したタグなしのキーを貼り付けられます。キーはデバイスに保存されません。別のアカウントのキーを使うと、そのアカウントの tailnet に参加します。Mac がない場合は、最初の画面で「デモを試す」を選ぶと、アカウントもネットワークも使わずに仮想 Mac を試せます。

よくある質問

アプリが Mac を見つけません。Mac がスリープしておらず、オンラインで、コンパニオンアプリが動いていることを確認してください。2 台が同じ Tailscale アカウントを使っているかも確認します。Tailscale の管理画面で Mac がオフラインなら、そこで再接続してください。

画面が真っ暗になる、または入力に反応しません。Mac のシステム設定で、Pairy の画面収録とアクセシビリティを確認してください。権限を変えたあとは、Mac アプリを終了して開き直します。

iPhone が iPad を見つけません。2 台を同じ Wi-Fi に接続し、iPhone で Pairy のローカルネットワークへのアクセスを許可してください。iPad が Mac に接続し、画面を表示している必要があります。

Tailscale なしで使えますか。通常の Mac 接続には Tailscale が必要です。アプリ内のデモはデバイス上で動き、アカウントもネットワークも使いません。

広告を消すには。アプリの「広告を削除」から一度購入します。同じ Apple アカウントの別のデバイスでは「購入の復元」を使います。以前のバージョンを購入した方は、そのまま広告なしで使えます。
